Climate Resilient Gardening Workshop

August 3, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

The first workshop in our FREE gardening series will be on the subject of climate-resilient gardening, a critical topic as we begin to experience droughts, extreme weather events, loss of important organisms, etc. As gardeners we can design our growing spaces to minimize the negative impacts of these climate-related stressors.

Jennifer Flynn, permaculture and edible landscaping expert, will be teaching this 1.5 hour long, FREE workshop. Here’s what she says about the workshop: Learn what you can do by being an active gardener to create climate resilience on your homestead and in your community. This workshop will include discussion of ideas for plants to install; practices from permaculture and regenerative agriculture to help your gardens thrive in a changing climate, such as composting, hugelkulture, and microclimate planting; some theory and philosophy; and a conversation on how we can better implement small scale solutions to support ourselves in the face of climate change.
