The Bible and Ecology

April 27, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Free

In many respects our very well-being and the future of our civilization is connected to the health of the earth. We have become alienated from nature in an unprecedented way, and we have not been good stewards. Many eco-theologians say that the environmental crisis that the Earth is experiencing is really a “spiritual crisis” of humans. Our renewed work on Care for Creation needs to address that crisis and to start rebuilding our relation with God, with each other, and all of creation. The Rev. Dr. George Clifford and Dr. Carl Sigel discuss what we know from the Bible and science, as well as life experiences, that can facilitate our making ethical decisions about how we can live on Earth in a way to restore right relationships.

These presentations are sponsored by North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and the Environmental Ministry Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of NC.
