Clergy Creation Care and Sabbath Retreat
January 25, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
$2 – $70Designed with clergy in mind, this day-long retreat creates space for deeper connections to neighbor, self, creation, and the Divine. Spend the day with a Biblical scholar, a climate scientist, a forest biologist, and local colleagues and pastoral innovators. Together we will interweave scholarship and science with space for rest, relationship, prayer – and of course, plenty of good food. We hope you’ll leave with some new language, tools, and ideas regarding how to love our neighbors and creation.
Cost is $55 on or before January 2, and $70 after January 2.
Sponsored by Creation Care Alliance of Western North Carolina and the Food, Health and Ecological Well Being Program at Wake Forest University School of Divinity
Some of our day will be spent with Dr. William P. Brown, Old Testament Professor at Columbia Theological Seminary, climate scientist Deke Arndt, and Public Lands Field Biologist, Josh Kelly.
This is a day-long event with snacks and lunch included. Optional nights for discounted Sabbath-rate lodging on Wednesday and Thursday are available. Please arrange Sabbath-rate lodging directly with Alli Gribben at allig@montreat.org, 828.419.9816.
