Fossil Fuel Divestment and You

January 31, 2016 @ 9:15 am - 10:15 am

Fossil Fuel Divestment – Jan. 31, 9:15am
— sponsored by the Justice in a Changing Climate Task Force of Community UCC, Raleigh

Churches around the country and around the world are doing what they can to decrease fossil fuel use and decrease climate change.  Community United Church of Christ in Raleigh is actively involved, their latest action being the installation of 9.2 kW of solar power on our fellowship hall last year.

The United Church of Christ and the Episcopal denominations have now decided to entirely divest from fossil fuel companies.  This is a bold step that will impact fossil fuel companies.

An important next question is whether individual churches and people can and should follow this lead.  This is the discussion we hope to initiate with the visit by Peter Krull to the CUCC adult forum.

Pete is the president and founder of Krull and Co. http://www.krullandcompany.com, a company that specializes in socially responsible investment.  He is working with North Carolina Interfaith Power and Light (NCIPL) to open the fossil fuel divestment discussion and show individuals what is possible.

Contact info@ncipl.org with any questions.

We hope you will be able to come to forum on Jan 31 and participate in this discussion.
