Join the Triangle Interfaith Alliance and participate in a Prayer Vigil in support of The People’s Climate March in New York City. The vigil will take place at 4:00 p.m. on the same day as the march on Sunday, September 21 at Community United Church of Christ, located at 814 Dixie Trail, Raleigh, NC 27607.

We have a moral duty as people of faith to: take care of creation and preserve it for future generations, to protect the most vulnerable from droughts, flooding, and increased diseases caused by climate change, and to build an economy that creates good jobs, clean air and water, and healthy communities.

That’s why on Sunday, September 21st, we’ll join together to show that we are united and ready for action on climate change.

Please join us September 21st at 4:00 pm!

Sponsored by the Triangle Interfaith Alliance, Community United Church of Christ, North Carolina Interfaith Power and Light, Wake County Audubon Society, and the Methodist Federation for Social Action – North Carolina Conference.

Chapel Hill – 2:00pm @ the Peace and Justice Plaza (Post Office)

United Church of Chapel Hill is organizing a Climate Vigil during the NYC People’s Climate March and they would like to invite EVERYONE to come who is in the Chapel Hill/Durham/Hillsborough area and isn’t going to NYC.

Congregations are invited to bring banners or posters to identify their presence. Please encourage your congregation, earth ministry, creation care, and social justice committees to take part!

You can RSVP here but pre-registration is not required!

Join local citizens concerned about climate change in a rally supporting the hundreds of North Carolinians who are traveling to NYC this weekend for the People’s Climate March. Thousands of people world wide are coming together to show that our communities are resilient, powerful and united in our demand that leaders take bold, political action to address the climate crisis. We want to show solidarity with those in our communities who are taking time out of their lives and traveling at their own expense to NYC to demand action now for the good of us all.

Bring signs, musical instruments and speak out if you like. Voter Registration will be available.
