Raleigh Earth Sabbath Celebration

April 22, 2014 @ 6:00 am - 8:30 pm

Free

Spring has sprung with beautiful flowers blooming and lovely bird songs! Our monthly Earth Sabbath Celebration falls on April 22nd, Earth Day!!! We’ll do something special to celebrate the day and meet at Historic Yates Mill County Park.  The park is located at 4620 Lake Wheeler Road in Raleigh.

We will take a walk in the park, taking time to focus on how nature speaks to us as individuals. Bring a poem to share to celebrate Earth Day. Please bring a chair and rain gear, in case it rains on Tuesday. The Earth Sabbath Celebration will begin at 7 pm on the back porch overlooking the lake.

You are also invited to arrive early to attend the Ross L. Andrews Nature Poetry Contest award ceremony sponsored by Center for Human-Earth Restoration  taking place on the back porch from 6 -6:45 pm. Some of us knew Ross before he died tragically last fall. Winners in four categories will share their poems, plus, others might share poems and songs. The ceremony will celebrate the Earth and Ross’s love for the Earth.
