Sacred Foodscapes, Food, Faith and Climate Change

May 11, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

On March 31, 2014, the UN’s intergovernmental panel on climate change issued a report that stated that climate change has already cut into the global food supply and going forward it could lead to dramatic drops in global wheat production as well as reductions in maize. Dr. Carl Sigel will discuss the current level of food insecurity globally and locally, and how for 25 years the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has been  pioneering innovative transformative solutions to reducing food insecurity in our community.

These presentations are sponsored by North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, and the Environmental Ministry Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of NC.
