Durham/Chapel Hill Earth Sabbath Celebration
This month's theme will be a Mother's Day for the Earth. Take part in a ritual giving back to Mother Earth. Melissa Nelson, professor of American Indian Studies of San Francisco State University, compares such celebrations to “renewing your marriage vows, if you will, to your ecosystem.” You are invited to bring a handful of soil or some water. UN Climate Summit Simulation
The Paris Agreement on Climate Change, negotiated by most of the world’s nations in December, was signed on Earth Day. Many praise the agreement reached nations as a historic landmark and turning point for addressing climate change.
